A must see for inspiration on design/interface Every Journal needs a Journal

This is what I call a two-fer. 1. Flash inspiration 2. Audio recording practice. Walk around a city, go into a cafe record a conversation, or just record a passing car, or even construction sounds, then head to the recording studio and mix it all together in this interactive Flash 'game.' Sitting through the ad is worth your time to play, A Break in the Road.

Worthwhile Survival Guides

Very slick interface. I was skeptical at first, but after investing some time I think it's worth your time, some useful tips and tricks for those of us just starting out in video. I didn't like many of the example videos they used, but the editing section was very well done.

Planning to publishing Part 4
February 24, 2007

It's PUBLISHED!!! Finally. My latest creation, a first for me, meaning I did everything on this multimedia. The Flash, video, hd stills, audio, and even my first 'info graphic'.
It can be seen here. If you have been following the long, sporadic and secret journey of this project–previous post–then the wait is over. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
I am going to finish giving the details about how this project came together in another post. Why? Because I thought I would let you all take a look, then ask ?'s and give me some feedback, then I can answer any ?'s in the final wrap-up. I'm also very busy trying to put together the next tutorial on video compression.
tnxs for your time,

I just got back from iTunes and noticed they have the oscar nominated shorts for 2 bucks I'm downloading a few right now, I'll let you know how they are. I'm planning on watching them on my laptop while I do some intense "compression" investigations for the up-coming tutorial.

Lots to see!

Take those Soundslides to the next level. Check out the fun I'm having. This ass (or audio slide show) from the Tour of California was produced on deadline. I listened to more than 50 audio clips and put the entire ass together in just over an hour.

Also had some great fun with Dai Sugano last week. We shot, edited and produced this little feature in about 2 hrs. Even had time to pull HDV stills.

Yaplet lets you instantly chat with other people visiting the same web site (THIS ONE) as you with the click of the bookmarklet below. It’s also installed on the sidebar. Just click and see who else is visiting the the site, share ideas or ask for help/advice. This could be a great addition the MMS.

You Must Be Streaming, Seriously

* I am so lucky to work with people like Dai Sugano, who produces this kind of creative work everyday. He 'paints' visually rich videos like this one.
* A New York Magazine article worth reading, You Must Be Streaming–In a sudden reversal of fortune, newspapers have taken to online video and might just beat TV news at its own game. By Kurt Andersen

*Multimedia producer interface inspiration <<GODS OF CHINATOWN>>

*Check out these useful video lighting tutorials at what looks like a useful new blog EFPLighting.

* A great link for free-to-watch documentry films on the web.

* Say what? Photographers who can write? You bet, check out the new Magnum Blog.

Hey, can you see the new MultimediaShooter header slide show above? If you can't, then it's time to empty your cache! Tnxs to David Barreda who created it. Know a multimedia piece good enought to be in the show, send us a line, don't be shy.
Notice the Amazon links to books in the side bar? This is a serious note that I am very serious about only recommending only books that have seriously changed my outlook on all things "multimedia," seriously. If you have a serious recommendation, send it my way. If it's worth the paper it's printed on, then I'll link to it, seriously.
Seriously,

A desperate plea
February 16, 2007
First, let me start by stating the obvious. I do not consider myself a blogger.
BLOG
From Wikipedia
Blogs often provide commentary… function as more personal online diaries.
OK, with that out of the way, let me start blogging.
I didn't create this site with the intention of pontificating from on high. Who am I to do that? I'm no Joe Weiss, Brian Storm or Seth Gitner. They have every right to express their views and we would have every reason take their words to heart. Why? They KNOW this multimedia stuff. I, on the other hand, haven't been doing it very long and am learning new stuff every day. BUT, I feel the need to express myself and warn you that I have nothing but the future of our industry in mind.

Tokyo Love Hello
February 16, 2007

I grew up in a small city in northern Japan. When I went to Tokyo for the first time, I think I was 17, it was a part of my school trip. i didn't really feel something overwhelming or strange being there, I think I was too young? or my visual senses weren't developed much? I went there again in 2000, that's after I started photography. and I felt like "Tokyo Love Hello". It was "a strange fantastic place"
