New Media Specialist
The New Media Specialist is responsible for creating original content for amnh.org and other digital platforms; will be a smart digital content creator, with terrific reporting, writing, multimedia, editing and production skills; able to create videos, audio podcasts, written articles and blog posts that inform and promote all aspects of the Museum’s activities to the general public. Develop leads, pitch story ideas and conduct research for assignments; Develop and maintain web site editorial calendar; Write feature articles, promotional copy and blog posts; Write production scripts, shoot video and record audio; Perform video and audio post production; Source previously produced internal and external assets to supplement original material;

B.S. in Journalism or Telecommunications or equivalent B.A degree; strong writing skills; ability to pitch, research, interview and write stories in a variety of formats, styles and voices: science reporting, general interest reporting, blogs, promotional material; comfortable with complex scientific concepts; familiarity with AP style; Video and audio post-production: ability to transfer raw video/audio from camera to computer, and perform all off-line editing and post-production tasks; on-camera presentation, hosting and interview skills; Proficiency with all digital production tools including WordPress, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Final Cut Pro.
