The Northwest News Group of Greater Chicago’s Online team seeks to
add an Interactive Editor to oversee the production of Web-based
stories for use on NWNG’s award-winning Web sites, such as
NWHerald.com, McHenryCountySports.com, ChicagoFootball365.com,
ChicagoBaseball365.com, LakeCountyJournals.com and others.
The Interactive Editor will work with the Managing Editor for
Interactive Media and will be responsible for developing, assigning
and managing long- and short-term online projects, as well as
producing breaking news and oversight of in-house video and
multimedia projects.
The successful candidate will be committed to first-class work and
documented creativity, and comes with a high level of determination.
Qualified candidates will have a history of success in the realm of
videography, online media or, preferably, both. Supervisory
experience is a plus.
As a leader in our Online department, a passion for storytelling and
the willingness to work a flexible schedule as part of a news
gathering team that covers a burgeoning suburban area are required.
Uncompromising professionalism, flexibility and a willingness to help
lead this department are minimum expectations.
Experience working with industry-standard HD video cameras, building
Web pages with Flash, HTML, and PHP or ASP, an understanding of video
production, the ability to edit audio and video content, and solid
writing and editing skills are requirements for consideration.
You can separate yourself from the pack if you have strong and
innovative Flash skills.
