Ok, I know it's all been done before, blah blah blah… I have great respect for those who came before me, but It might be time to try some extra cool stuff again. The reason I say this is because I know a few multimedia journalist tried something like this many years ago, but I think they were a little 'before their time.' I think the time is right now. I freaked out when I heard about this, watched the examples and downloaded the FREE software 'engine' and saw how easy it is. I'm gonna go play with this right now. Now this would be a cool way to enter the MMS contest.
Korsakow-Films are films with a twist
They are interactive – the viewer has influence on the film. They are rule-based – the author desides on the rules scenes relate to each other, he does not create a fixed order. They are generative – the order of the scenes is calculated while the viewer looks at a Korsakow-project.Korsakow-projects can only be viewed on a computer. They are delivered via internet-streaming, DVD-Rom or CD-Rom. The Korsakow-System was invented by Florian Thalhofer in 2000 for the making of the nonlinear documentary the [korsakow syndrom], his final piece at the University of the Arts, Berlin. It is being improved an developed by him and Prof. Willem Velthoven.
