THE JOB
The Associated Press seeks a Multimedia Producer for AP Digital in New York City.
THE INTERNSHIP
Wanna hang at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive? They're going to be working on a couple of really cool projects, and would love some help.
THE HD FRAME GRAB OPTION
THE NEW PLAYGROUND
My new playground. Multimedia365. A work in progess.
i've been keeping visual journals for over 15 years. the life of my journals resemble the thousands of pictures i've taken over the years, they gather dust in a dark corner in an old Ilford box. i'm tired of hearing their muffled voices pleading to be set free. here's their chance.
i've always felt the act of taking pictures was a cosmic gift beyond my control, like the moments captured on film were given to me for a reason. a reason i can't comprehend. i know they should live beyond the closed pages and shut boxes.
here's my way of setting some of my images and creative ideas free.
the site itself is something of a
mysterious journey. there are little
pieces, everywhere, hidden, waiting
to be discovered, uncovered.
i hope to create an interactive journal entry everyday for one year. i know i will end-up posting the results at the end of the week. you get inside the journal by choosing a date from the calendar on the main page, explore, click drag. everything has potential. enjoy,

Interesting, I like it. It reminds me of college where I attended Art School (Savannah College of Art & Design) 12 years ago. I would always try to incorporate my style from my former training into my photojournalism job when I was at the paper.
PUUUULEEASE. Really how can resizing a photo be unethical? Totally absurd. I can’t be more sick of people fearing technology and the future then now. The added 35mb is interpolated data that allows a photo to be printed at a larger size. That’s it. So don’t even start with this being an ethical concern. When you LIE with a photo that is an ethical concern and that can be done simply with who and what you leave out of the frame.
I am psyched about using HD as a way to produce stills, sound and video all at once. At the end of the day, we are storytellers. We have to be accountable to our audience and tell the truth. There are many ways to lie. Bicubic sharpener isn’t one of them.
I am of course referring to the frame grab article. David leeson did a HUGE free favor to all of us releasing the voodoo tool. Let’s not be asses about it.
kirk, i agree. i have huge respect for leeson I & II.
Love the playground. The diary of your trip to Poynter is awesome. How do you find the time to do all this stuff? You must be hyped up on cafe Cubano with extra sugar 24/7!
