Pitches story ideas. Shoots and edits video on news, arts and music
subjects; collaborates with NPR reporters and producers to create
video reports; develops ideas for series on recurring features;
consults on appropriate video tools and technology; helps establish
technical standards for video; trains and mentors staff on tools and
creative approach; and cultivates relationships with third-party video
sources. Five years of professional television and/or video
experience in a news or documentary setting required. Must be an idea
machine with the skills to follow through; demonstrated excellence as
a writer and visual storyteller; demonstrated expertise in video
shooting and editing; experience working on a Web publication or
demonstrable passion for new media platforms, tools and approaches;
familiarity with a variety of computer systems and software
applications; ability to adapt to changes in equipment, software and
workflow; and understanding of journalistic ethics; experience
maintaining high journalistic standards under deadline pressure,
including standards of objectivity, balance and fairness. Significant

MULTIMEDIA DIRECTOR SOUGHT
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is seeking a visual journalist who can work with reporting teams to develop their multimedia storytelling. The candidate will help staff pick the best tools, help train them in the use of those tools, and coordinate the work of reporters, photographers, videographers, editors, designers and graphic artists.
A thirst for learning about new ways to tell stories is essential. Skill in bringing out the best in others is required, as is at least one year of experience working with multimedia tools.

Description: ABQjournal seeks a journalist to join our multimedia newsroom to be the primary source of high quality video editorial and advertising content. Demonstrated experience with Final Cut Pro, AVID or equivalent software is required. Photoshop and Flash experience are a plus. If anyone is interested in the Roanoke position, it is a great place to work, with a very talented and motivated staff. They are all great people. The area is phenomenal and a great place to live.

That’s gonna be awesome if I get to work with someone on the ground floor and play a role in shaping the papers multimedia (not to mention I’ll be one of the only ones on staff doing it (if the past is any indication) so I get to have more fun) … hmm, come to think of it, this will be 3 times now where I’m working with someone on the ground floor and introducing multimedia to the news room… sweet, more for me!
