As I mentioned in part one of this post I watched two movies as inspiration for my up-coming multimedia project. What I am taking away from both of them, which happen to be fantastic, is a sense of deliberation. Both films for me where very deliberate in their styles. The Conversation was deliberate in its editing and Lost in Translation was deliberate in its 'soft' and 'slow' pace. But hey, I'm no movie critic. This is just what I took away and I'll see if I can do something with these ideas in my project. Also as part of my process I often get so inspired I feel the need to create something RIGHT THIS SECOND! So, after watching both films I edited this little piece in iMovie. It's quick and not very good, but I promised that in this post, I would take you through my entire process, so here you are. Tomorrow I begin to draw out the Flash stage and begin to review the raw footage. I'll post the results.

“The Conversation” is an awesome movie, Richard. (Did you ever read The Responsive Chord, by Tony Schwartz? “Written by the man The New York Times called the ‘king of sound.’ “)
To me, the movie is all about listening. What you hear might not be an accurate reflection of reality. Then, the visuals of that film completely reinforce that same idea. It’s what you imagine is real, and that may not be what is real. Always important to remember when we are doing journalism!
