Looks like this could be a very cool site for inspiration, behind the scenes with photographers and the video pieces themselves are well edited.

Just a DAMN smart idea, I've been trying to sell this idea for a while…. that newspapers need to drop their damn old english masthead identity and get into the business of cool with their feature content. and above all get over their ego and 'hide' the fact that they are a newspaper. That's just what this site did!!!! Just go there and try to find out which newspaper runs this, it's hard to find unless you're looking for it Home – Metromix Los Angeles

Can you do it in 90 seconds?

DepicT! is Watershed's unique filmmaking competition, part of Encounters International Short Film Festival, which challenges filmmakers from across the globe to come up with a compelling, imaginative idea and distil it into 90 seconds of cinematic originality.

Forget the film, watch the titles
You know what they say about first impressions. That’s why both Hollywood and independent studios are spending valuable time and resources to create the most appropriate main title sequences for their films. At its very best, a title sequence is a self-contained hybrid that combines several moving image techniques – film, animation, cgi – to compress the essence of the film it introduces.
On SubmarineChannel, we love a good main title. That's why we've started an online collection of the most stunning and original ones. Some are engaging or wildly entertaining, funny, exhilarating or deadly beautiful. Some are oozing with visual treats while others hit you hard with their bold and audacious style.

With our staff using more and more hard drives to store and produce HD video we've had a few 'meltdowns' Maybe this will help?
SMARTReporter is an application that can warn you of some ATA hard disk failures before they actually happen! It does so by periodically polling the S.M.A.R.T.-status of your hard disk. S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a technology built into most modern hard disks that acts as an "early warning system" for pending drive problems.
Oh yeah this too:
SuperDuper!
Have no fear. SuperDuper v2.1.4 is here! SuperDuper is the wildly acclaimed program that makes recovery painless, because it makes creating a fully bootable backup painless. Its incredibly clear, friendly interface is understandable, easy to use, and SuperDuper's built-in scheduler makes it trivial to back up automatically. And it runs beautifully on both Intel and Power PC Macs!

Finally some house-keeping.
I have come to the realization that i am who i am. sometimes i don't like to capitalize, i love caffeine, the letter " " is brken on my laptp and i am tired of going back to fix it when i blog, i'm often in a hurry, and that's ok too, i'm a terrible writer, i love beer, and on and on. i love what i do and how i do it, especially this blog. so what i am saying is that i can't please everyone. i know i know, i should have learned that by now. thank you all for your email encouragement, ideas and support. this is what i do, enjoy the ride or get off! i mean that in a very nice way!

I love the Michael Jang piece. Not only his narration but the video work is great. By never seeing his face, it reenforces his last sentence. Beautiful
Word, Richard! Your blog is fine just the way it is. It’s the blog YOU want to write. And you have a loyal audience, and people are very grateful for the time you put into it and all the great stuff you share. (Me included!) So lean back and enjoy it. And keep posting.
Although … I would recommend spellcheck! (Ha ha ha!)

I like your blog too! Always find good stuff here. The only thing I’d change is sourcing your finds. I never know where you are getting your information from. I sometimes like to know just so I can go check out the site and see if there’s any other cool stuff there. Or god forbid, I may want to subscribe to a new RSS feed although I really have too many already. I don’t want to end up like Will Sullivan. Haha.
Richard, You’re a great source of information, know what the hell you’re talking about, and I love your humor. The blog is just fine the way you have it. Keep up the great work!

angela i get everything i post on my blog by word of mouth, my delicious network, and i’m totally addicted to stumbleupon, those are my sources.
SMARTReporter is a great app, but I noticed it severely effected the load on a wide range of machines. Restarting the MacBook and MacBook pro was pushed back from 20 sconds to 2 or 3 minutes in some cases. It’s a damn handy warning tool though.
